'a terrific achievement and powerful testimony'
'The piece takes a stirring story from Chicago’s late-19th-Century history and adopts a beguiling rough theatre aesthetic to offer free-wheeling narrative, political debate and the rediscovery of a fascinating figure in its lead character.' -Matthew Lloyd, Theatre Director

One city's anarchy. Everybody's revolution.

Anarchy brews in 1886 Chicago, a dark city plagued by capitalist greed, political corruption, and class-conflict. As the labour movement clashes with a brutal police force, should workers maintain a peaceful protest or take up arms and fight for what they believe? This is the story of the Haymarket Affair, told through the eyes of Lucy Parsons, a former slave and future 'Goddess of Anarchy'.

The show featured a new score of Americana folk music, infused with a modern groove, and brought to life in this production by a talented cast of 12 actor-musicians from 7 countries.
'unexpected and enjoyable'... 'entertaining and informative'
